Where Drag Becomes Divine

Diaspora Thredz is a couture art practice, living archive, and decolonial design studio rooted in African diasporic memory.

Diaspora Thredz

Where Drag Becomes Divine.

Custom couture for drag performers who refuse the binary and command the stage as archive, altar, and revolution.

If I didn’t define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.”

-Audre Lorde-

Couture Rooted in Ancestry. Built for the Stage.

Diaspora Thredz is a decolonial couture practice serving drag artists who embody power, excess, and expansion. Each piece is constructed as living memory — rooted in African diasporic cosmology and designed to transform performance into ceremony.

These are not costumes.
They are power pieces.

Drag in Diaspora

WE WERE NEVER BINARY.

Before empire imposed limits, gender was expansive, sacred, and sovereign. Diaspora Thredz restores that inheritance through fabric, silhouette, beadwork, and performance.

The stage becomes altar.
The garment becomes archive.
The body becomes testimony.

A Queen’s Gotta Eat

Before the stage, before the spotlight — there was the kitchen.

From Roots to Recipes honors the African culinary knowledge passed from generation to generation. Techniques carried across oceans. Spices remembered when land was stolen. Meals that held families together when systems tried to tear them apart.

“Our food is a story of survival.”

-Michael W. Twitty-
